Namaste Devotees ! I Rajiv Krishna Dasa welcome you to the world of Saligramas. Shaligrams are the divine gift of Lord Vishnu to the mankind, whose worship can
spiritually uplift and show us the way to philanthropy, austerity and Salvation. Lord Vishnu has been taking birth in several forms (incarnations) duing the time immemorial and is saving the mankind from the hardships and miseries. In Kalyuga, Shaligram Shilas which are His direct manifestation will continue to show the light of conciousness and spiritual liberation to the mankind.
The devotees who have been benefitted wants to accumulate atleast 108 Shilas because as per 'Garuda Purana' Lord Vishnu has mentioned that, “Where 108 Shilas are kept and worshipped, that place becomes 'Vaikuntha' and I personally come and stay there and bless the worshipper". Due to the prevalent myths and misconceptions about this mystic Shila the devotees are sometimes not sure whether they would worship the Shila correctly. www.shaligram.com has determined to remove all misconceptions about this pious stone from the mind of the people and take atleast one Shaligram Shila to every Altar that is existing on this Earth. Kurma is the second form of Lord Krishnas incarnation. At the Churning of the Ocean, Vishnu as Kurma ( the tostoise) offered his back as a pivot on which to rest the Mount Mandara, used as a churning stick by gods and demons during Sagar Manthan. The worshipper of this shaligram gets immense PERSEVERANCE, strong will power, patience, wealth and happiness in his life. He gets support of one and all, in accomplishing his works sucessfully. He is bestowed with all the wordly comforts and usually gets astonishing success in business and service. The Kurma shaligram also works as a shield against all evil forces and gives immense protection to the worshipper. Kurma is a very powerful and rare Shaligram. Every altar should have atleast one Kurma Shila.
