Moon and Its Gemstone Pearl:
Moon is the presiding deity of the element water, and rules over the
tides of the sea. The sphere of the Moon is the reservoir of rain water and
thus Moon is the ruler of plants and the vegetable kingdom. Moon represents
the mother or female principle, the energy that creates and preserves. The
moon is one of the main sub-planets taking light from the sun, it revolves
round the earth scattering its shining light. The colour of Moon is white.
Its nature is tender hearted, wise and learned. It rules the peace of mind,
comfort, general well being and also the fortune of a person.
The gem stone related to Moon, the coldness' is Pearl. Pearl is a kind
of stone. It is a compound of calcium and oxygen.
Pearl gemstone is regarded
a kind of calcium carbonate on the basis of chemical combination.
Pearl is a smooth, lustrous, variously colored deposit, chiefly calcium
carbonate, formed around a grain of sand or other foreign matter in the
shells of certain mollucks. Highly valued as the most famed gemstone, pearl
is recognized for its beauty and elegance. Pearl is a pathological formation
in pearl oyster, formed due to the entrance of a foreign particle into the
gap between the body and the shell of the pearl oyster. The irritation
caused by the foreign particle makes the oyster take out a secretion to
cover the particle. This when dried, again creates irritation to the animal,
so it covers it with its secretion again- the continuous process continues
for 3 to 6 years to produce a precious pearl.
Pearls of Basra normally called as 'Basra Pearls' in Orrisa in India found
are most rare and famous in the world. The pearl is worn on the little
finger on the left or right hand preferably in silver.
