Gudi Padwa is an Indian festival that is celebrated in many regions of India, mainly in Maharashtra, on the first day of spring the Chaitra Pratipada. The day that Chaitra Month begins is celebrated as Gudi Padwa. It is important for every Hindu. From that day, Ramas Navratri begins and ends with Ramnavami. Significance of Gudi Padwa

Steps of Raising Gudi
- First, rinse the sticks with warm water.
- Offer turmeric & sandalwood powder to the Gudi stick.
- The Gudi Stick is decorated with a silk cloth or Saree, mango and neem leaves, marigold flowers and sugar crystals.
- Put Kalash on the top of the stick.
- The decorated Gudi should be raised on the house from sunrise to sunset. This is Brahmavadja.
- The Gudi is raised outside the house or on a terrace or a window.
- In the evening, before sunset, descend the Gudi. Earlier, she offered jaggery and coriander seeds.
