The Pradosh Vrat and Katha is a meritorious Puja which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The word Pradosh means the dusk of the early night or evening tide. Pradosh Vrat Katha and Pradosh Puja and Vrat Katha are performed on the 13th day of each lunar fortnight. As this Puja ritual is performed in the evening twilight, therefore, it is called Pradosh Vrat Katha. According to Skanda Purana, one who practices the Pradosh Vrat Katha with unflinching faith and devotion are bound to possess wealth, health, happiness.

Pradosh Puja and Vrata Katha are performed on every Trayodashi tithi or the 13th Lunar day falling in Krishna and Shukla Pakshas during Sandhya Kaala (i.e. During or after sunset). Lord Kamadev is the Lord of 13th Trayodashi Tithi whereas Lord Rudra (Shiva) himself is the Lord of the succeeding Tithi i.e. 14th Chaturdashi tithi. It is the day of the dark half of every month called Sivaratri or Masa Shivaratri. Shivratri which falls in the month of Magh (Feb-Mar) is called Maha Shivaratri which is the greatest of all.

Types of Pradosh Vrat
1. Nitya Pradosh: Nitya Pradosh Kaal is the evening time on all days between just 3 ghatis (72 minutes). It is the time before sunset and the time when the stars rise or become visible in the sky.
2. Paksha Pradosh: The Paksha Pradosh is the evening (sandhya) time of Shukla Paksha Chaturthi (4th Lunar day after New Moon) every month.
3. Maasa Pradosh: It is the evening of Krishna Paksha Trayodashi which is 13th Lunar day after Full Moon every month.
4. Maha Pradosh: It is the evening (Sandhya) time of Krishna Paksha Trayodashi which falls on a Saturday.
5. Pralaya Pradosh: Pralaya Pradosh is the time when the entire universe gets annihilated or merged with Lord Shiva. It is observed on every 13th Lunar day after the full moon and new Moon. The married couple jointly perform this ritual with the hope of being free from miseries or for gaining material prosperity.

- Small video clipping of Abhishekam of the main deity (or pradhan god) will be sent to you on WhatsApp while the puja is still in progress.
- The video clipping of mantra chanting by priests will be sent during the puja ritual.

Since all priests are Kashi trained and are initiated, hence once the Sankalpa is taken individually by them, they are bound to complete the stated number Japas positively.
