History of Alexandrite Stone
Alexandrite Stone was first discovered in 1830 in the mines of Emerald near the Tokovaya River in Russia. As this gemstone was discovered on the day of Prince Alexander II of Russias birthday so it is known as Alexandrite Gemstone. One day miners were working alone in the mines & collecting emeralds. One miner gathered some stones similar to Emeralds Gemstone.
He took those stones back to the camp in the evening. But he observed that in the light of the campfire these stones shone a brilliant shade of red-purplish and the miners were perplexed. In the morning they saw that the stones were green again in the sunlight. Now they realized that they had found a mysterious gem.
